ANGLICAN BISHOP Dr John Holder says there is a link between religion and good health and for many people, life and death decisions are grounded in the belief that a higher being influences the outcome of treatments moreso than physicians.
He said people who attend religious sessions had a support system based on shared faith and that could be helpful in the healing process.
“Church ministries offer assistance programmes and offer counselling services for those in need. Therefore, religion can lower stress levels,” he said.
Holder was delivering remarks at a faith-based conference dealing with linkages between religion and health at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday.
