WHEN THE HOPE family of Jury Road, Bridgefield, St Thomas, went to sleep last Friday night, their matriarch was “safe” at home.
But when they woke up the next morning, 70-year-old Mildred Viola Wilkinson was gone and would not be discovered until Tuesday morning – her body found in a small depression not too far from home.
The tragedy unfolded when the family got up on Saturday morning to find the door unbolted and Wilkinson gone.
Gwendolyn Hope said her mother had been acting strangely of late and in retrospect, thought she might have been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
