ADD Tia-Adana Belle and Dario Scantlebury to the list of qualifiers for the CARIFTA Games.
Belle, the World Youth silver medallist in the 400 metre hurdles, has surpassed the standard in the 400 metres.
In her first outdoor meet yesterday at the Shamrock Invitational in South Carolina, Belle was third overall in 54.94 seconds. Now competing for St Augustine, she is well within the qualifying mark of 55.20 seconds for Under-20 girls.
Scantlebury, a former champion in the 400-metre hurdles clocked 53.45 seconds recently at the McNeese State Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The University of New Orleans freshman was third overall behind teammate Constant Pretorius (52.87) and Morgan Cormier of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (53.13).
The qualifying time for the CARIFTA Games in the 400-metre hurdles for Under-20 boys is 53.70.
Stephen Griffith of The Lester Vaughan School has also qualified in that event, hitting the standard on the nose.
