A BARBADIAN MOTHER and son have been charged with four drug offences.
Marita Eugene Odle, 42, and her son Rico Antonio Odle, 24, of 1st Avenue Weekes Land, Goodland, St Michael, were both arrested and charged separately for the offences committed at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
They were charged with possession of 5.6 kilogrammes of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said they arrived on the same flight from Canada yesterday and were separately stopped and interviewed by police.
Marita Odle was then referred to Customs, where a search of her luggage revealed 5.6 kilogrammes of cannabis hidden in a false bottom of her suitcase.
Her son was also referred to Customs, where a search of his luggage also revealed the same quantity of cannabis hidden in a false bottom of his suitcase.  They were both detained.
The Odles were expected to appear at the District B Magistrates Court today. (PR)
