THE BOYS from Williams Industries West Terrace Primary successfully defended their title at the Pine Hill National Primary Schools’ Athletics Championships today at the National Stadium, while the girls from St Stephen’s Primary won their first ever crown.
West Terrace topped the tables with 91 points, staving off a stiff challenge from Charles F. Broome (87) and Luther Thorne (83). Bayleys and Wesley Hall rounded out the top five with 61 and 57 points, respectively.
St Stephens’ girls won their first ever title with a commanding 125 points, leaving Charles F. Broome (78), Popular Discount Lawrence T. Gay (58), Wilkie Cumberbatch (56) and Wesley Hall, also 56, to take the next four spots.
Defending champions West Terrace finished seventh on 38 points.
Skye Spencer-Layne of West Terrace was the sole victrix ludorum, but there was a three-way tie among the boys.
Her teammate Iyobosa Iyare, Shem Williams of Luther Thorne and St George Primary’s Jacquan Pilgrim were joint victors ludorum.
