KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) – The sentencing hearing for entertainer Vybz Kartel and the three men convicted with him for murder, is expected to take place today, after being postponed last week.
The men were found guilty on March 13, in relation to the death of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. However, the sentencing was postponed by the judge who needed more information from the defence team.
Kartel’s lead attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, says he has now supplied the necessary information.
When this process is over, Kartel will also stand trial in August, for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He’s charged jointly with entertainers Vanessa Saddler, otherwise called ‘Gaza Slim’ and Andre Henry otherwise called ‘Pim Pim’.
The three were charged in 2012, following an investigation into an alleged scheme to deceive the police in their probe of the murder of Williams.
