Top Gear is here to stay.
At least for the next two years.
The internationally acclaimed motor festival isn’t just making a one-time stop in Barbados, as it was revealed yesterday the event would also be held next year at the newly renovated Bushy Park.
In an interview with the SUNDAY SUN, chairman of Bushy Park Circuit Inc. (BPCI), Mark Maloney, said Barbados was set to reap enormous benefits from the hosting of the world-renowned BBC-branded festival.
“We have entered into a three-year contract with Top Gear and the Global Rallycross Championships, so the event is definitely on for 2015 and 2016,” he explained.
“I think this opportunity will have a tremendous impact for Barbados. It is beyond belief. The opportunities are endless and they will pay dividends quite soon.
“This is the beginning of a long relationship which I think will be beneficial to everyone,” he added.
