Digicel Premier League action resumes this evening after a week’s break.
The Empire Club Ground will play host to three games which have important implications to Premiership supremacy, as well as Premiership survival.
Weymouth Wales will oppose Pharmaceutical Plus Cosmos in the opening fixture at 4 p.m.  The Carrington Village boys are favourites to win this one after inflicting an 8-0 thrashing of the relegation-threatened Cosmos last Sunday in the KFC Champions Cup.
Perhaps a change of venue can swing the result in Cosmos’ favour and spoil Wales’ effort to close the gap on the top three, but more importantly earn three points to get away from the relegation area.
Another struggling unit will be going in search of some much needed points when Magnum Tonic Wine Dayrells Road clash with neighbours Mackeson Brittons Hill.
Brittons Hill blew away Dayrells Road in their first round encounter 5-0, but Dayrell’s Road has shown way more purpose and desire than they did back then and may be motivated by the intensity of the game being a derby.
Brittons Hill are eight points off the leaders and they will be prime picks to win this one, especially if the good form and fortune of go-to-man Darnell Murray continues.
The feature game between table-toppers Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) and second-placed Pride of Gall Hill is expected to produce plenty fireworks.
These two teams met last week in a gruelling and tiring third-round knockout clash, with the BDFSP emerging victorious after 120 minutes and more than 30 penalty kicks. Therefore, revenge will be on the minds of the Gall Hill players, who have but one shot at claiming glory in 2014 after being ousted in the Cup competition.
Defending will be the major factor in this game as both teams are filled with players who can score at any given time.
