FOR THE THIRD TIME in less than a week, a 16-inch water main in Woodbourne, St Philip, ruptured, forcing workmen from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to work around the clock.
From early this morning, residents in various Christ Christ Church and St Philip districts took to the airwaves to complain about the latest water woes.
Among the areas affected were Silver Hill, Kendall Hill, Gall Hill, Montrose, Water Street, Kingsland, Lodge Road, Pilgrim Road, Newton, Parish Land, Coverley, Fairy Valley and Seawell in Christ Church.
The Deighton Griffith Secondary school in Kingsland closed early as a result.
In St Philip, Woodbourne, Rock Hall, Green Point, Foul Bay and St Martins were all without service.
The BWA dispatched water trucks to the affected areas and were hoping to have the main repaired by tonight.
