The latest attempt to crack down?on lawlessness and unruly behaviour among public service vehicles (PSVs) is to be led by the owners themselves.
And to try to show that they are serious, the owners plan to hire officers to ensure compliance with transport rules.
After years of complaints about the way some of the PSV workers operate, interim chairman of The Alliance for Owners of Public Service Vehicles, Roy Raphael, told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday they had decided on the self-imposed clean-up as part of a strategy “to rebrand, rebuild and refocus”.
“We need to get our act together,” he said.
The initiative follows recent meetings PSV owners held with general insurance companies and was also in response to a constant public outcry about bad behaviour.
