Methodist church gives to charities

THE JAMES STREET/Speightstown Circuit of the Methodist Church donated $3 000 to each of three charities today.
Chairman of the extravaganza committee, Reverend Ezra Barker said the money was raised from their annual An Afternoon at Ilaro Court event.  For the third year, the proceeds have gone to the Albert Cecil Graham Centre, the Challenor Creative Arts and Training Centre and Special Olympics Barbados.
“We see them as worthwhile charities who are looking after the differently abled in the community and as Christians it is our duty to ensure our fellow men and women are taken care of so we feel we should lend our support,” he said. (CA)
