Ivy still under police watch
Despite a number of arrests and a lull in violence, the Police Force is still keeping a keen eye on The Ivy, St Michael district.
“The Ivy is still high on the agenda and we are still making every effort to make sure the people of that community are safe and secure,” acting Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, Erwin Boyce, said yesterday.
The senior lawman noted that in addition to maintaining a constant police patrol and presence in the neighbourhood, police would also be looking for illegal firearms and ammunition.
“Firearms are still a major headache for us, especially in terms of the violence associated with it,” Boyce added. (TS)
