60 learn new hospitality skills
SIXTY YOUTHS FROM across Barbados are now more skilled in three areas of the hospitality industry.
They will all graduate with a certificate bearing the stamp of the Hospitality Institute at the Barbados Community College on Saturday, having completed 13-week courses in Basic Professional Cookery 1, Bar Technology and Food & Beverage Service.
A requirement of the programme was for students to give back, and students in the three groups showed off their new skills during lunch at PomMarine Hotel today where campers, members of the community and several Government departments were the specially invited guests.
The training was made possible through a grant from the United Kingdom-based Diageo Foundation. (YB)
