Athletics teams named
THE ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION of Barbados this morning announced the names of the athletes who will represent Barbados at four major international meets in the coming weeks.
These are the Commonwealth Games (July 24 to August 3) in Glasgow, Scotland; the World Junior Championships (July 22 to 27) in Eugene, Oregon; the North American, Central American and Caribbean Under-23 Championships (August 8 to 10) in Kamloops, British Columbia and the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, from August 20 to 25.
Commonwealth Games: Ryan Brathwaite, Greggmar Swift, Shane Brathwaite, Ramon Gittens, Kierre Beckles, Andrew Hinds and Jade Bailey; Alwyn Babb (coach), Chalise Jordan (athletic therapist).
World Junior Championships: Akela Jones, Sada Williams, Tia-Adana Belle, Tristan Evelyn, Levi Cadogan, Shamar Rock, Jerrad Mason, Michael Nicholls and Rivaldo Leacock; Adrian Thorne (coach), Dr Nicole Grant (athletic therapist), Catherine Jordan (manager).
NACAC Under-23 Championships: Tristan Whitehall, Janeil Craigg, Nicholas Deshong and Burkheart Ellis; Gabriel Burnett (coach), Dr June Caddle (manager).
Youth Olympic Games: Tristan Evelyn, Sada Williams, Rivaldo Leacock, Michael Nicholls and Ramarco Thompson; Nikkisha Maynard (coach). (PR/SAT)
