Another major Trinidad and Tobago company will be expanding its brand in Barbados, resulting in more jobs for Barbadians.
First Citizens, the twin-island republic’s leading homegrown commercial bank and investment management house, will establish a sixth branch of its bank in Warrens by yearend, and hire more people to deal with their expanding credit card services and a new range of unique loans.
Though Jason Julien, general manager of First Citizens’ Investment Services Limited, could not give likely numbers the bank would hire within the next few months, he told the DAILY?NATION: “You’re going to see more resource mobilisation . . . . Then there is the expansion of the credit card service we offer; we will bring some new products and services to the market as well, and we’re actually hiring additional resources to treat with clients on our lending side.”
Julien said the bank was working to put its own IT system in place to allow for greater networking and integration. Once completed, this would provide a platform for the bank to effectively expand its footprint here.
