NCF looking for bigger crowds
It was a “pantastic” weekend for the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) in more ways than one.
Chief executive officer Cranston Browne said that, like all events held for Crop Over so far, gate receipts for their calendar events had been down.
But he expects that tide to swing going into the final three weeks of the Sweetest Summer Festival.
Browne told the MIDWEEK NATION the three pan events held last weekend brought out “mammoth” crowds and that the momentum wa building.
“Saturday and Sunday were free, but we had a good turnout at Ilaro Court [Pan Fusion on Friday]. We didn’t have any decrease there. There was a mammoth crowd in St Peter [and] there was one at Brandons. So going into these big events now, we’re looking forward to some good returns.” (YB)
