Glee for Sammy G

No one could stop Sammy G on Saturday night as she swept aside the competition to take her second straight Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch title in the 13-18 category.
Singing a number entitled My Tribute – to the 40 years of Crop Over – Sammy G, who was a semi-finalist in Friday night’s Pic-O-De-Crop contest, racked up 441 points to be way ahead of Ah-Dee-Lah (415), DJ (413) and Nubian Queen (411).
And in the 8-12 class, it was another crowd favourite, Raanan, singing No Daddy, who romped to the crown with a massive 453 points, 45 ahead of second-placed Dynamo.
