March still on
THE BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY has restated its opposition to the imposition of a solid waste management tax by the Democratic Labour Party government and plans to go on with a march against the tax on Thursday starting at Heroes Square at midday.
At a press briefing at their Office, Parliament Buildings today general secretary of the party Senator Jerome Walcott said the BLP was against the tax since its announcement and remained focussed on fighting against it.
Walcott also said the BLP had discussed how to deal with the tax at various meetings previously, contrary to belief of some.
He said the march would end at Bay Street just by the stop lights as they were told by the police that they could not go within 200 yards of Government Headquarters. (JS)
