Showers, thunderstorms tonight
TROPICAL DEPRESSION No. 2 showed little change in strength overnight and environmental conditions are not conducive for any further strengthening at this time, says the Barbados Meteorological Services.
The system is however still expected to spread moderate showers, possible isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across Barbados as it passes north of the island later tonight into early Thursday morning.
At 5 a.m., the centre of the depression was located near 13.9 °North, 53.2° West or about 420 miles (675 km) to the east of Barbados.
Movement is towards the west-northwest at 20 mph or 31 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hrs.
Maximum sustained winds are 35 mph or 55 km/h with higher gusts.
The Barbados Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of this system. (PR/NB)
