BCSI rebranding Barbados’ services
BARBADOS is being positioned to infiltrate the regional and global markets and stamp its specific brand on the services it offers.
These two new projects were announced today by Lisa Cummins, Executive Director of the Barbados Coalition of Services Industries (BCSI), when she delivered the opening remarks for the Access to Financing for Training seminar at the BCSI training room, Harbour Road, St Michael.
Cummins told the participants that Barbados would be building an offshore services industry. She explained that there were many cases where regional partners were producing similar services like Barbados but there were gaps, which the BCSI envisions Barbados moving into.
“We’re looking to move into training persons to service what we call our offshore services,” Cummins said, pointing out that the aim was to have Barbados become a high quality service exporting economy.
Another project which she also revealed was the Quality Standards Mark which is essentially branding and defining Barbados’ services.
“We’re aiming to have that appended to every single service-providing business in Barbados that says ‘I have been the beneficiary of a series of developmental interventions’, that says ‘I am providing high quality high end services and is the Barbados standard’,” Cummins announced.
