Cautious about UWI bursaries
UNDERGRADUATES of the University of West Indies Cave Hill Campus responded with cautious enthusiasm to the invitation by the Ministry of Education to collect their application forms for bursaries this morning.
This comes two weeks after Minister of Education Ronald Jones announced that 3 000 bursaries would be made available for students. It follows after much debate about government’s new policy that university students would have to pay the tuition costs of their education.
A number of students who turned at the Constitution Road, St Michael ministry this morning revealed that they were happy about the development and hoped that the bursaries would come through. (JS)
