Teen charged in Beer Fest shooting

A TEENAGER IS expected to appear in the District “B” Magistrates’ Court tomorrow in connection with a July 26 shooting incident at the Glebe Playing Field, St George.
He is 19-year-old Julian Omari Cave of Parish Land, St George who has been charged with wounding with intent, endangering life and using a firearm without a valid licence.
Eighteen-year-old Jamario King and 50-year-old Lavastin Callender were injured in the incident which police say occurred around 3 a.m. following an argument at the Beer Fest event.
King received gunshot injuries to his upper body and collapsed. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by a private motor vehicle where he underwent emergency surgery and was detained.
Callender received a non-life threatening wound to his stomach and sought private medical attention. (PR/NB)
