THE YARD of the Sanitation Service Authority was a hive of activity as almost 100 people turned up to bid at a public auction this morning.
At stake were about 24 abandoned and out-of-service vehicles comprising trucks, pick-ups and station wagons at the Wildey, St Michael headquarters.
Bidding was hectic and ranged from $100 to $3 600.
Alkins Kirton auctioneer said the reason behind the sale was that it was uneconomic for the government to maintain the stock. (JS)
