New business laws on the agenda
BARBADOS IS LOOKING to amend several pieces of legislation with a view to making it easier for companies and individuals to carry out transactions in the international business sector.
Minister of Commerce, Industry and Business Development Donville Inniss made this disclosure today, while addressing an Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
When Parliament resumes sittings in October, it will be debating amendments to several laws covering matters being handled by Government’s Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property office, he reported.
Limited liability partnership legislation is also being drafted to modernise partnership arrangements and there are also some proposed amendments to the Income tax Act and the Insurance Act, the minister said. (TY)
