All that Rudolph Gibson and Anthea Toppin were left with were the clothes on their backs and their dog, Bounty.

The firebug struck yesterday morning, robbing the couple of almost 30 years of quiet existence at Bonnetts, Brittons Hill, St Michael.

The partners, who occupied a wooden house rented from Pearl Russell who lives in the United States, lost all their possessions in the blaze, including a brand new refrigerator and a stove recently purchased.

Toppin said she had left home when she got a call from her neighbour that her home was on fire.

Gibson was at a pharmacy buying medication when he got the news from Toppin. (JS/RL)
