Son’s last wish

ONE OF THE LAST THINGS Shaquille Denny did before setting off on what was supposed to be a fun-filled day at Crane Beach, with two friends on Thursday, was to wish his father a safe day, urging him to take advantage of his “second chance at life”.

Unfortunately for Denny, the rough seas didn’t grant him that same opportunity.

After being missing for more than 24 hours, the body of the 18-year-old was pulled to shore at 4:20 p.m. yesterday, just off Foul Bay, a quarter-mile from where he was last seen on Thursday.

The discovery ended 13 hours of searching by the Coast Guard, whose efforts started around 4 p.m. on Thursday after Denny encountered difficulties in the choppy St Philip waters and failed to surface.
