UPDATED: Neighbours charged with wounding
The two neighbours involved in Saturday’s brazen cutlass attack at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital have both been arrested and charged.
John Evelyn, 34, of Ashby Land, Christ Church has been charged with two counts of wounding after stabbing Ken Beckles, 20, also of the same address.
While Beckles was in the Accident and Emergency awaiting treatment, he was stabbed by Evelyn, sending others present scampering.
Two detectives who were present pursued Evelyn after he fled the scene. He was ordered to stop, but complied only after police threatened to shoot.
He was remanded to HMP Dodds until October 20 when he appeared at the District A Magistrates Court today.
Meanwhile, Beckles was also charged with wounding Evelyn at Enterprise, Christ Church.
When he appeared at Holetown Magistrates Court today, he was granted bail, to return to the Oistins Magistrates Court on October 27.
