HEALING HERBS: Ways men can boost sexual prowess

“The reality is a man who doesn’t have an erection, doesn’t feel like living, even if he is 16, 30, 40 or 80 years old.” – Perking Up Sex Life, Saturday Sun, October 4, 2014.

I was overly excited in the wee hours of Saturday as my husband and I continued to enjoy our moments together. Later, I bought a Saturday Sun newspaper and as I turned to the middle page and read the article cited above, that built-up excitement became one of sadness.

Regrettably, I recognised that some men in Barbados are doubting their ability to stay erect, thus the young and old are going all out to enhance bedroom prowess by using a variety of sexual enhancers. In my opinion, we have to arrest this problem because it reflects negatively on Barbadian males. Imagine if Barbados is labelled as the ‘No. 1 male sexual enhancement city’?

On reading the article further, it was revealed that “the majority of the people who pass through pharmacies looking for a boost in bed opted for herbal tablets”. This week I want to offer some hope to men and present them with a silent doctor that has anti-diabetic, anti-hypertensive and sexual enhancement benefits.

Silent doctor Surinam cherry, Brazilian cherry, Cheyenne cherry, cayenne cherry or pitangas is an incredible fruit. I have two trees and I always look forward to picking and eating the delicious cherries and experimenting with new remedies. The leaves, bark, fruit and oil are used for healing.

Each Barbadian and Caribbean male should plant and nurture a Surinam cherry tree to benefit from its sexual enhancement, cholesterol lowering and other qualities.

Owning a Surinam cherry tree and combining the fruit with other silent doctors to improve bedroom prowess would enable men to maintain their sexual integrity, since the inability to maintain erections would remain confidential.

Each cherry contains niacin which has the ability to boost sex drive, and potassium which is useful in the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure. Phosphorous, vitamins A and C, protein, thiamin, calcium, iron, riboflavin and sodium are also present in Surinam cherries.

According to the Journal Of Ethnopharmacology, the leaves are affirmed as anti-hypertensive. Colds, diarrhoea, gout, edema, eye infections, gastrointestinal disorders, weight loss, pathogenic bacterias like staphlococcus, life-threatening sepsis, pain and fever can be treated by using Surinam cherries.

I can swear by Surinam cherries, so plant a tree to enjoy sensual, spiritual and healing encounters and to assist in raising the self-esteem in males.
