As countires worldwide grapple with the possibility of the Ebola virus entering their shores, health officials here are also in preparatory mode.
This week, workmen have been busy readying an isolation centre at the Enmore Clinic at Collymore Rock, St Michael.
This centre will be used for suspected cases of the virus and will accommodate four patients at any one time.
Permanent Secretary Tennyson Springer told the WEEKEND NATION some adjustments had to be made to the unit after consultations with a number of international health bodies.
At the rear of the centre is the Ursuline Convent school, which has reportedly expressed concern about its proximity.
