KINGSTON (AP) – Officials say a Jamaican airport was briefly evacuated because of a fire that delayed departing flights. Nobody has been hurt.

The fire broke out Thursday in an electrical room at Sangster International Airport in the northern tourist city of Montego Bay. Dozens of passengers were led out of the terminal. It is the airport most used by tourists who fly to the Caribbean island.

Fire investigators say they are investigating the cause of the blaze, which was extinguished quickly. Some departing flights were briefly delayed, but the airport remained open and incoming flights were not affected.

It’s the second fire at the Montego Bay airport this year. In May, a bigger blaze destroyed parts of an airport building housing the crew room. No one was injured in that fire either.
