MORE THAN 80 per cent of Bank Holdings Limited’s 580 employees staged a strike this morning.

From as early as 7 a.m., workers converged outside Banks (Barbados) Breweries’ Newton, Christ Church headquarters, pending word from their representatives, the Barbados Workers Union.

And while most remained tight-lipped about the reason behind the strike, reports are that they stem from grievances which management has failed to address.

However, chief executive officer of BHL, Richard Cozier in a hastily called Press conference said he was very surprised at the action and was awaiting word from BWU general secretary Toni Moore for more information. (RB)
