Jones: Care about your education

MINISTER OF EDUCATION Ronald Jones wants students and their parents to do more to exploit Barbados’ educational offerings.

He said today he was concerned about students opting to stay away from school some days – simply because they didn’t “feel like it” – and their parents supporting the move.

He also spoke of children who didn’t care about getting to school on time and who were bent on “giving trouble” once they arrived there.

He made the comments during a graduation ceremony for New Orleans, Bridgetown children who had taken part in a Homework and Reading Assistance Project sponsored by the police and the Pan American International Insurance Corporation. (TY)
