Tea update – Carlos Brathwaite puts T&T Red Force under pressure

FAST BOWLER Carlos Brathwaite grabbed three wickets in a telling burst to give Barbados Pride an advantage over Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at tea on the second day of their WICB Professional Cricket League match today.

Brought on after fellow pacers Kemar Roach and Jason Holder failed to make a breakthrough, Brathwaite removed Evin Lewis (10), Yanick Ottley (0) and Jason Mohammed (3) to leave Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on 42 for three in reply to 360 at the Queen’s Park Oval.

In six overs, Brathwaite has taken three for six. Roach has conceded 20 runs from five overs while Holder has given up 16 runs in six overs.

Opener Lendl Simmons is unbeaten on 25.

From a lunchtime position of 342 for eight, Barbados lost their last two wickets shortly after the interval.

Captain Kraigg Brathwaite, who started the day on 115, was dismissed for 182 after reaching the lunch break on 175.

Shane Dowrich fell for 76 after resuming on 50 and the other Barbadians dismissed on the second day were Carlos Brathwaite (0), Jason Holder (17), Ashley Nurse (29) and Jomel Warrican (9). (HG)
