Unit twist

Another controversy seems to be brewing over reports that the Ebola Isolation Unit at Enmore Clinic will be moved to a new location.

In a letter issued by the Ursuline Convent to its parents and teachers, the school’s board of governors disclosed that work on the new site is to begin before year end.

“Today, we were told that the new location has been identified and that work will begin before the end of this year. The new location will house a six-bedroom unit. Technology from the present building will be transferred to the new unit,” said an email sent on Friday to hundreds of parents and staff at the Collymore Rock, St Michael school.

However when contacted yesterday, Minister of Health John Boyce denied any knowledge of the latest development.

“I’m not aware of any of that talk. Check your source where they got that information from,” Boyce told the SUNDAY SUN.

He refused to comment any further on the matter.
