Rain and patience.

Those two things that seemed to desert the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on Saturday in their West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Professional Cricket League contest with Barbados Pride, showed up in just enough amounts on day three yesterday to give the hosts a shot at saving the match at Queen’s Park Oval.

By stumps T&T were 165 for three following on, needing 100 more runs to make the visitors bat again, after adding just eight runs in their overnight first innings total to be dismissed for 96. It left the visitors just one good hour away from full points.

The loss of Yannick Ottley to a Dwayne Smith catch at slip with three balls left in the day for 44 (six fours, 138 balls) would have been particularly disappointing for T&T, who return from 9:30 this morning to try to rescue the match, currently under the Bajans’ strong grip.
