SIXTH FORM education will soon be extended to private secondary schools in Barbados.
St Winifred’s School is set to get the ball rolling in about five years, as part of a planned expansion to a Government-owned lot opposite the Pine Road, St Michael School.
Principal, Anthony McConney, spoke of the sixth form and plans to offer a premier learning centre to the public after a tour of the school’s facilities by Minister of Education Ronald Jones this morning.
Jones gave the assurance that he will give permission for St Winifred’s to acquire the land at the appropriate time. He also said that going forward all secondary schools will be outfitted to offer Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination and other post-16 programmes. (YB)
