Reverend Curtis Goodridge made the charge in a sermon yesterday morning during the annual Independence service of the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) at St Lucy’s Parish Church, where he is rector.
He said Barbados was facing moral, social, economic, financial and religious crises and urged political parties to come together to help the country solve them, rather than spend time “planning and strategising on how to win the next general election”.
“There is crisis in our homes,” Goodridge told the congregation. “There is crisis in our schools and, believe you me, there is crisis in the church of God in this land.”
