Lorry goes over precipice

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING an accident which occurred at Durants Village, St James, involving a motor lorry driven by 50-year-old Trevor Burke of Ellerton, St George.

Just after 12:15 pm today, Burke was delivering a consignment of building material to a residence when he apparently lost control of the lorry and went over a 40 foot precipice.

Burke received a wound to the back of his head and he complained of pains to his back and legs.  He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.  (PR/NB)
