Bloody weekend as man killed in crash

A late-night desperate dash to see an ailing sister ended with Clyde Small dying instantly in a horrific crash while waiting at the bus stop early yesterday.

Later, one man was shot and two policemen also injured during an incident at a popular beach.

Meanwhile, one man remains in a fight for his life while awaiting surgery for a bullet lodged in his chest following a drive-by shoot-up of a bar on Saturday that also killed one man.

These were all part of a series of tragedies and injuries marring the long Independence weekend as the country marked its 48th anniversary with an ecumenical service on Sunday and the national parade yesterday.
