Barbados Pride reach 230 for five vs Windwards

TWO BARBADOS PRIDE batsmen scored half centuries today as the team reached 230 for five at Arnos Vale against the Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Barbados overcame a freak accident involving opener Omar Phillips to bat all day in their WICB Professional Cricket League match.

Roston Chase was unbeaten on 56, while Shai Hope made an even 50.

Hope struck the ball which hit Phillips in the back of his head, causing him to lose consciousness on the field. He was eventually taken to the hospital after on-field treatment and was reported to be conscious again.

Alston Bobb has taken three wickets for the Windwards.
