Sir Henry’s appeal to knights

NEWLY KNIGHTED Sir Henry Fraser is calling for a meeting of the knights of the roundtable.

In accepting the glowing praise heaped upon him yesterday in the Upper Chamber, Sir Henry, who received his knighthood during the Independence honours, said it was time for the distinguished group to give back.

“To those who have much, much is expected. It has been suggested to me that those who have been honoured with this great honour of Barbados have a responsibility to work together . . . and we can work together. I think that the knights should not just be, for many people perhaps, a reward almost at death’s door.

“We do have a responsibility as knights and there is a role for us to play . . . . That Sir Roy, Sir Trevor and the other Sir Trevor can get together and see what more we can do to help Barbados in these difficult times,” he added. (AC)
