Residents of White Hill in St Andrew are getting a new road into their district after all.

Ever since a major landslide last month that left their main vehicular access cut off, and an announcement by Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley that he had been advised by experts in the ministry that the road should be abandoned, residents have been crying out for help.

Yesterday, Lashley told the WEEKEND NATION that the situation had been reassessed and residents would now benefit from a new road. Over the next few days, he explained, they will decide whether the new access would be provided across the area of the landslide, or over an adjoining parcel of land higher uphill. (RRM)
