St George steal the show

St George got the better of St James when the National Sports Council’s Inter Parish road tennis quarterfinals were contested at Oistins on Wednesday night.

If one thought that competing within swinging distance of the Atlantic Ocean would have bothered the teams from St George, well St James found out otherwise as St George advanced to the semi-finals in the Masters and the ‘B’ Class while St James had to settle for a single spot in the ‘A’ Class.

After capturing the first two vacancies, St George were in a good position to win the spot in the “A” Class although the over-rated Lloyd “Dickman” Burke was halted by the dreadlocked David “Jah Paul” 15-21, 20-22.
