Drugs, gun found on fishing vessel

TWO MEN are assisting police with investigations into the discovery of drugs and a gun onboard a fishing vessel.

According to police, members of the Drug Squad, Police Marine Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard carried out an operation around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday in the waters off South Point, Christ Church.

A fishing boat was intercepted and 37.1 kilogrammes of cocaine, 46.4 pounds of cannabis and one nine millimetre pistol were reportedly discovered in a false compartment.

The boat was seized and investigations are continuing. (PR/NB)
