BWU planning Budget suggestions
NO MORE TAXES.
This is the message which the Barbados Workers’ Union is sending Government as the labour body prepares for its annual mid-term meeting on February 15.
General secretary Toni Moore told reporters today that the union would use the conference to canvass the views of the broad membership on issues including what Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler should or should not include in this year’s national budget.
However, she made it clear the union’s position was that there should be no more taxes on the working class and Barbadians in general.
The mid-term meeting will also look at the issue of a 24-hour business environment and a medical plan for unionised workers. (TY)
