Teachers staying away
TEACHERS FROM Alma Parris and Parkinson Memorial Schools will not be returning to the classroom.
That is the word from Barbados Union of Teachers president Pedro Shepherd.
At a media briefing today, Shepherd said teachers at Parkinson Memorial remained very concerned about their safety, especially in the wake of a recent incident where weapons were found on the compound.
Teachers there said the students involved were not disciplined and there was chaos at the school on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, Shepherd said the issues at Alma Parris remained the same, with teachers fearing the school would be closed. They want the Ministry of Education to address their concerns. (MB)
