A COMBINED EFFORT of pace and spin supported by brilliant catching helped Barbados Pride earn a lead of 57 runs on first innings over the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at Kensington Oval yesterday.

By the end of the second day of the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional Four-Day Tournament match, the home side had extended the lead to 72, reaching 15 without loss in their second innings.

Resuming on 246 for four overnight, Barbados collapsed to 275 all out 35 minutes before lunch, but led by aggressive fast bowling from Carlos Brathwaite, the Pride bounced back to dismiss the visitors for 218 shortly before the close.

Brathwaite took four wickets for 50 runs from 13 overs to unsettle the top and middle order, while off-spinner Roston Chase took three for 14.
