More than 400 pounds of cannabis seized in beach operation

TWO NON-NATIONALS have been detained by police and a foreign-registered fishing boat seized following a police operation on the beach at Derricks, St James around 8:30 p.m. last night.

Police say they also seized 14 polythene bags and three haversacks containing a total 466.18 pounds of cannabis.

The operation was carried out by members of the Drug Squad assisted by the members of the Police Marine Unit and the Northern Division. (PR/NB)
