Move to combat passport fraud
GOVERNMENT IS amending immigration legislation to create indictable offences, alongside the extant summary infractions, to include a stiff new maximum fine of $25 000, primarily to combat passport fraud.

The bill will provide for indictable offences (trial by judge and jury) under the act or regulations made under it.
