On to Sugar Bay

THE FORMER Amaryllis Beach Resort is to undergo a $10 million transformation and renamed Sugar Bay Barbados.

It will signal veteran hotelier Gordon Seale’s entry into the all-inclusive hotel business and the full-time employment for 300 Barbadians at the seafront property, with “other positive spin-offs for local suppliers and businesses”.

The 138-room Sugar Bay at Hastings, Christ Church, is scheduled for a “soft opening” on October 15, followed by “hard opening” on November 1.
